Our classes during week days for the spring season are taken care of by the following people:
Carlos Camba is an Angolan citizen living in Finland. He has been teaching Kizomba and Semba in Finland since 2014. As he’s been teaching he has been furthering his education all over the world. He has taken many courses, particularly in Angola. The focus in his classes is on the basic step of the dance, the body language (movement) during the dance, how to play with your waist during the dance and so on. He likes to have good relationships with his students therefore, communication and good sense of humour are very important to him.
Tatjana & Jury
Tatjana is a passionate dancer. She started her dance journey in 2003 with contemporary and hip-hop, in 2011 continues with Latin dances and many more, also had worked as licensed Zumba instructor. Juri had been dancing Salsa and Bachata since 2011.
They both started dancing Kizomba in 2012 and immediately felt in love with this magical dance. They attended many different Festivals, workshops and master classes with most of top teachers in different styles. This passion pushed them to start creating Kizomba community in Nepal, where they had taught Kizomba for 2 years. After coming back to Europe they continue mastering dancing and teaching . In 2014 they participated in Afrolatin Connection‘s Kizomba Bootcamp and performance at Berlin Salsa Congress. They also have attended teacher’s trainings with Petchu and Vanessa in 2015, and with Afrolatin Connection – in 2017. In 2017 they participated in “Show your style” bootcamp with Laurent Yìshu and Fred-Nelson Banderas, and now continue learning in Laurent Yìshu’s Kizomba online school.
Pretty much everyone in the Helsinki Kizomba community knows Pekka. No-one on the local scene dances like Pekka. He is known for his immersive social dance sessions. His patterns and techniques are never boring and keep the ladies he dances with on their toes. An interesting challenge is how it is best described by followers who dance with him. Now is your chance to learn some of skills and techniques he has collected. What you learn from him you will be able to practice at some of our social dance parties where Pekka also DJs.
Pat burst onto the Helsinki Kizomba scene a few years ago, his natural talent, dedication and perseverance allowed him to develop his skills very quickly. Soon enough he started organizing social dance events during the summer followed by his first teaching engagements. Today he travels and teaches at international festivals: Oslo Kizomba festival, Riga On the Wave and Brussels Kizomba Festival to name just a few. At home he is active in weekly free classes and social for TAT - a project whose goal is to promote the employment of people with 18+ year-olds who have a migrant background.
Sven and Jonna
Sven and Jonna are one of Helsinki's Kizomba couples. They met on the dance floor and have been together ever since. After many hours of class from local teachers and many classes from renowned teachers at international festivals they decided to start Azembora in 2016. Preparing to own and operate a school took them to Belgium for teacher training with Frans and Sarah, Jose N'Dongala's students and in 2017 to the Petchu and Vanessa teacher training. They teach Semba influenced Kizomba and you will also see them in many of the other classes at Azembora.
Kiz Touch is a dancing couple that started dancing, and fell in love with kizomba in 2014 and have been teaching together since 2016. For them, dancing is interpreting the music and the feelings it carries through movement. Their style falls into the kizomba fusion category. The couple has been taught and influenced by various international teachers starting from the kizomba and semba teacher's course by Mestre Petchu and Vanessa, through fusion kizomba with Isabelle and Felicien, and Albir and Sara, all the way to Urban Kiz with the very creators of the style: Curtis, Moun and Enah - to name but a few. "Be gentle, stay connected and enjoy the dancing!"
